Day 1 of An Excellent Adventure

Even though I have flown into Islip Airport on Long Island a number of times, I had never noticed this memorial to General Douglas McArthur before. I believe my reasoning is 2-fold. First I’ve come to stay at A & I’s home in the Hamptons where the weather is nothing except perfect up here. I can relax, listen to my music always blasting on my EarPods, not have to live in Miami during the crappiest part of the year with heat and rain and unbearable humidity. Not have to worry about Peaches and Cherry because Kenny is babysitting my pets with the same affection that I have for them. I’m happy I don’t have to go out daily to feed, clean, play and water 9 chickens! So I can be FREE AS A BIRD. (There’s an Idiom)

The second reason is because after the East Hampton Library event at the Children’s Fair I get to fly out of JFK to Frankfurt for what I hope will be an incredible journey on a D-Day excursion. Hence my salute to General McArthur - sorry I didn’t notice the memorial sooner and so my senses are heightened to all things military.

More to come about the Authors signing event at the Fair later.
